Take the “blah” out of boneless, skinless chicken by using a marinade! Chicken doesn’t have to be boring, let me prove it with my recipe for The Best Grilled Marinated Chicken! (It’s pretty good people) 🙂
Plain Chicken is No Good
It’s not. Especially if it’s boneless, skinless chicken breast. You might as well eat a piece of paper. Don’t do that. But seriously, it just doesn’t have any flavor. And this isn’t 1990 anymore…we’re not afraid of fat and other flavorful ingredients. So don’t torture yourself with boring chicken.
The Best Honey-Citrus Grilled Chicken
Now listen, anytime you use a marinade on chicken it will automatically make that chicken “the best.” Or at least “so much better” than plain chicken. So is this the best grilled chicken recipe? Well, I think it’s pretty darn good. It’s a little bit sweet and a little bit savory with a tiny hint of citrus. Then when it’s grilled, well, it’s magical. And garnishing it with a little green onion and crushed red pepper adds the perfect finishing touch!
Now You Make It
Here’s the good news. Marinades are easy to make. Yep, they sure are. This one will take you less than 5 minutes to throw together. Then it’s just a matter of letting the marinade do its job on that chicken! I recommend marinating for at least 1 hour, but you could get away with 30 minutes if you’re in a rush. But, psssst, here’s a helpful piece of info, you can make the marinade THE NIGHT BEFORE if you know you’ll be struggling for time! Want to watch me make it? Place inside a bowl or other container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours.
- When ready to cook, preheat the grill to medium-high. Clean and lightly oil the grill grates. Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade. Grill the chicken, flipping once halfway through cooking time, until internal temperature reaches 165’F, about 8-10 minutes.
- Drizzle chicken with reserved marinade then garnish with sliced green onions and crushed red pepper, if desired.
