It was hot. I was sweating. I was thirsty. There was a Starbucks. I needed something to drink, but definitely NOT coffee. What was I going to do? Well, I was also super indecisive, so I ended up asking the barista and she said, “how about our passionfruit lemonade iced tea?” And I said, “yes, that’s perfect!” But the $5 price tag was not. I downed it and promised myself I would never buy that drink again because I knew I could replicate it! And I did with this Passionfruit Tea Lemonade!
Sigh, is this a recipe for a smoothie? And a green smoothie? Oh, it sure is. I know, you’re thinking “NO WAY am I making another green smoothie,” but I think I may be able to chance your mind.
There are about a million corny ways I considered starting this post. But I restrained myself from St. Patrick puns. Instead, I wanted tell you a little secret, Shamrock Smoothies and Shamrock Smoothie Bowls are usually pretty gross. (I mean, matcha is great, but please don’t put in my shamrock beverage.) Except this one. This one is actually tasty and is actually good for you. That’s a pot of gold if you ask me! Okay, I couldn’t help it!
It’s officially unofficial! THIS is the summer of the AGUA FRESCA! As designated by yours truly. But really, when it’s hot out, why wouldn’t you want to drink something this refreshing?
Besides loving tacos and Mexican food, in general, I love a great margarita. Not the super sweet, frozen kind, but the kind where you can taste the tequila and lime juice. I also happen to really love a good agua fresca. Have you had one? Talk about yummy and refreshing! Yep, so I did just what you’re thinking – combined the two to make this Dragonfruit Mango Agua Fresca-rita!
When I was little, I used to marvel at the fancy drinks my parents would enjoy during the holidays. Big punch bowls full of mystical liquid were at every party. Most of them were deemed “for the adults only.” Bummer! What I would’ve given for a big punch bowl full of something deemed “for the kids only!” And I think I would’ve really loved this Pom-Cherry Spritzer!
The classic margarita is perfect. Not one thing wrong with it! But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play around with a classic every now and again. And since pomegranates will be coming into season soon and your tacos will STILL need that perfect margarita pairing, I’ve created this Sparkling Pomegranate Margarita (Mocktail)!
Turmeric is kind of having a moment right now, in case you didn’t notice. Go to any fun, trendy restaurant and I bet you’ll find something on the menu with turmeric. Why all the fuss? Because it’s cool to be a root right now! How about a little turmeric trend insight and a recipe for a cozy Lemongrass Turmeric Latte?
Oh, hi EXTREME cold, I didn’t miss you…at all. Your bone-chilling wind and icy snow flakes don’t really do much to make me smile. Because, well, my face is frozen. But alas, it’s winter and I do live in the Midwest. So instead of continuing my rant on the cold, I will beat it with my new recipe for Warm Chai-Spice Pom-Apple Cider.
